Carter: 4 months

Carter,

You are such a happy baby now, and I love every second of your smile and every ounce of your laughter. You are noticed everywhere we go and smile at almost every face you see (until a camera comes out)! I'm so thankful that we figured out your tummy and now you can enjoy life :)

At four months, you are weighing in at a whopping 15.13 lbs (70%) and are 25.25 (60%) inches long. You are quite a big boy and everyone comments on it. You still fit in all 3-6 month clothes but have been wearing a few 9 month sleepers. You now eat 5-6 ounces 6 times a day and spit up enough to drive me crazy some days. You always wear a bib in hope of saving your clothes but even that doesn't always work. You still sleep about the same. You go to bed around 9 and wake up between 3-4 most nights. During the day, you still only sleep for about 30-45 minute spurts every 2 waking hours.

You are moving a lot more these days. You like to grasp anything and everything from toys to faces to hair. You enjoy playing in your exersaucer and trying to eat the toys around it. Your hands are constantly in your mouth, and we have just recently spotted that thumb going in throughout the day. In your stroller or the car, you like to be on the move and don't like to just sit still. I think you are going to keep me just as busy as your brother.
Getting you to smile during these was almost impossible.
Every month from here on out should only get more interesting with this Teddy Bear!

My Cart Tart - You make life fun, and it's only getting better. I love your joy, and I know that God is going to do great things with you!

I loved you yesterday, I love you today, and I will love you tomorrow,
Mommy

Red Day

For our last weekend at our church before Christmas, I had to make sure everyone was in their Christmas colors!
Love the new houses in our background view now?!?!
I love my boys!

Decorating Cookies Take 1

John's parents came up for the weekend to help watch the kids while we went to several Christmas parties. Grammie sent along sugar cookies for Jack to bake and decorate.
 Our little helper!
I don't know if he would be all that much into this if it didn't mean he got to eat them when he was finished!

Carter's Photo Shoot

Last week, I took Carter's 3 month, which really ended up being almost 4 month, pictures so I can hang one on our wall. He completely hammed it up for me. This is the most personality I've been able to capture so I love them!

Carter: 3 months

Carter,

And here we are, a quarter of a year old...just like that. I've blinked, and you're not my newborn anymore.

At 3 months, you still sleep and eat the exact same. We put you to bed usually between 9-10 and you normally wake up between 3-4 with some earlier times and some later times here and there. We don't have a consistent nap time yet, but you stay awake for about 2 hours and then nap in your bed for about 30-45 minutes. If I were to hold you each time, you would nap for hours, but neither of us are that lucky. A big thing did happen to your eating, though. You only eat out of a bottle, and at about 2.5 months, Daddy noticed some blood in your poop :( After talking to the doctor and doing some lovely stool samples, we realized your little tummy just couldn't take your formula, and you got put on a hypoallergenic/soy based formula. Although this stuff STINKS like potatoes, it has made you so much happier, and I will take that any day! You have now become a baby full of smiles and coos, YAY.

When we went to the doctor with your tummy issues, you were 13.10 lbs so I bet you are a strong 14 pounds now. You wear all 3-6 month clothing and have some cute chubby cheeks.

These days you are rolling from your tummy to your back consistently, cooing, smiling, and have begun to laugh out loud. I absolutely love hearing you laugh. That sound never gets old. You still enjoy your play mat and would rather be outside than inside. You are not the biggest fan of your car seat unless it is in motion. You love to be in the know and like to sit in your Bumbo with everyone else so you are often on the table eating with us, on the counter baking with Jack and me, or on my counter watching me get ready. You have found your fingers and chew/slobber on them constantly...maybe there will be some teeth here soon.
You, little stinker, are full of smiles until I break out my camera. You definitely do not perform well!

Sweet Cart Tart - you light up my day! I know God is going to do great things with you.

I loved you yesterday, I love you today, and I will love you tomorrow,
Mommy

Ranch Fun

We visited the ranch twice this past month, and here are some of our adventures.

Carter's first time swinging by himself! He wasn't too sure what to think.
Jack made his own mound of rocks so he can reach this all by himself!

Mule time! Jack's favorite, and I'm sure Carter will like it just as much when he is bigger.
Jack had been asking to go on the paddle boat. He happily put on the way too big life jacket...
and then we took it off since he couldn't move! They couldn't paddle too far since the tank is so low, but he still had a lot of fun.
More outside fun with sliding, swinging, and bubbles.
Lastly, we celebrated Pops! It was his 62nd birthday!!
