September's Misfits

Here are my September misfits.
 Carter LOVES bath time.
We took the boys to Chuck E Cheese. This was Carter's first experience where he was able to "play".
Jack loves this ride. Carter wasn't much of a fan.

 Jack doing the Chuckie
We also went to Sea World. Jack was able to ride one of his very first big rides!! He rode the big boat that splashes and gets everyone wet. He and Daddy had a blast on it while Carter and I ate ice cream. Sadly, I didn't take very many pictures.
We also spent the weekend at the ranch while John's parents were away. They had watermelon waiting for my boys!

Jack's first day of Pk-3

Back in September, Jack started Pre K 3 at ELP. He goes twice a week this year and is a Duck with Miss Lisa and Miss Pat. Miss Pat was his very first teacher so we were very excited to have her again. He loves going, and I love hearing about his day.

Laughter is the best medicine

Our last night together was spent laughing which couldn't have been better.
The three of us are so incredibly different, and it is funny to go back and think about how we all came about. We are all now walking different paths, living in different places, and enjoy different things, but I'm so thankful that we all made it a priority to check out on life and spend these days together. I'm thankful for these friendships - 12 years and counting!

Adventure in the Grand Tetons

Our last adventure was to the Grand Tetons National Park. Kristen was feeling better so she was able to join. The weather was gorgeous, and we were ready to hike. We took a boat across some Jenny Lake and began our journey up.
This time, we actually hiked. And, it was way more difficult!
There were lots of beautiful bubbling brooks.
This part of the hike was amazing. We were limited in our time and could only go so far since we had scheduled massages, but it definitely left us wanting more. It made me think of walking with God. Every step you took further on the path, the better it got.
We finally decided it was time to turn around and head to the waterfall. I think we took people for surprise the whole way down with our songs and super friendly hellos. Yes, we were THOSE people! Once we got to the bottom, we had a small hike over to the falls. We thought it was going to be much easier, but it was still a trek.
The Grand Tetons did not disappoint.

Yellowstone

Our next adventure was Yellowstone. Kristen woke up sick with some kind of tummy bug so Janiece and I ventured out on our own. It was a LONG day, but it was fun.
After Old Faithful, we hiked (which was more like walking along a smooth path) to Fairy Falls.
Then, we hiked up a hill to see this beauty. The camera did not capture the colors at all.
Then, we drove to the Painted Pots which is pretty much boiling mud puddles. Neater in person for sure.
Next was the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone.
As we were leaving the park, we leisurely passed some buffalo and elk on the side of the road. No big deal, huh?
