Random June Pictures

Here are our random June moments.
One of Carter's favorite places to play is under the table. The only problem is he bumps his head quite often and gets stuck between chairs!
Jack had a mega bubble bath in our tub one night. Bubbles plus our jets make quite a bubble mania.
We were getting ready to go swimming with Grams when Jack ran into the living room like this!
Carter hates the rough ground on his knees so he resorts to bear crawling. Pretty smart!
Fly Swatters are every kids favorite toy, right?

Quick Family Vacation

If you know me at all, I have an itch to travel pretty much every day. I have really struggled this year because I want to go, but I also want it to be enjoyable for the whole family and not cost an arm and a leg since Carter won't remember a lick of it. After researching lots of places, we just decided to take it easy and head to Corpus Christi. We left on a Wednesday morning and drove 4.5 hours to get there. After checking in and unloading, we had a rather early dinner and then hit the beach. It wasn't very crowded which was nice. The next morning, we ate breakfast and then headed straight to the beach again.
The hotel had boogie boards you could use.
 Carter just loves the sand.
We also got the kite to fly really well!
After the beach, we all played in the pool for a bit. That evening, we met John's aunt and uncle who live in town at a local restaurant. The boys ate well and behaved beautifully. Then, we came back to our hotel and walked the little boardwalk thing so I could get pictures :)
Friday morning, the day before July 4, we headed out. After seeing the beach that morning, I was glad we didn't stay! We headed to meet my cousins and eat breakfast at her restaurant which was absolutely yummy. They had never met Carter and last seen Jack as a baby so it was good catching up. After wrapping up there, we went to the Aquarium. We enjoyed the little shows there, ate lunch, and got on our way to head back home. It was a super quick trip, but we ended up having a blast and want to make it a yearly trip!

It's blueberry time!

At the end of June, we headed out to a local blueberry farm to pick blueberries for the first time. It has just rained day after day so we put on our rain boots, sprayed ourselves with mosquito spray, and headed out with a smile.
Our instructions were to find a bush, taste the blueberry, and if it was sweet, pick the bush. And that is exactly what we did!
Even Carter got in on the taste testing!
Lots of times, the big plump ones were at the top so we could only get them one way.
1.5 pounds later, it was time to go home.
That night we made delicious blueberry muffins and vowed to go back soon.

Bike time

At Christmas, Jack got our neighbor's hand me down bike. He tried it a few times and realized, it wasn't worth the effort, and he would much rather use his scooter to zoom down the street. Every now and then, he would ask to get it out of the garage and then after one roll down the driveway, he was done! Well, out of nowhere, he decided he could do it, and we haven't looked back! We've been able to go on family bike rides, and it has been wonderful - except the part where Carter doesn't really like being on the back of my bike! He also rides his bike around the block, to the park, and to the pool. I tell him where to stop, and he listens. I cannot believe he is old enough to do this!
He crashed a few seconds after this picture - completely my fault :( Don't have your child turn to smile when he is still in the beginning stages of bike riding!
