First Aggie Baseball Game

We took Jack and Carter up to Aggieland for their firt Aggie baseball game! John's boss even gave us his season tickets since they weren't able to attend! We left home right after lunch and went to my college adoptive family's house first to spend time with them. They had never met Carter which means they hadn't seen Jack in awhile either. It was really great catching up. After that, we headed to John's college adoptive family! It had been even longer since we had seen them. Carter even managed to spill a drink all over their carpet while we were there :) We like to make sure they remember us. Next, we headed to Research Park - one of our favorites. I packed some bread so we could feed the ducks.
Once the bread ran out, we finally made our way to the game. Jack was beyond excited! They were handing out free bubble guns when we arrived and that was all Jack needed to make his night go from good to amazing! He enjoyed the game, but he really enjoyed blowing the bubbles! We had to finally limit his bubbles to only good things during the game because I think the people around us were getting tired of them. When the Aggies scored, everyone blew their bubbles, and it was a really neat site. Carter sat and enjoyed the environment, too. We actually lasted until the 8th inning and almost 9 o'clock which is far later than I would've imagined.
Man, I love my boys!

My baby and a Mirror

I remember getting some really cute pictures of Jack with the mirror as a baby so I HAD to do it with Carter! Well, Carter was a few months older, and he is quite the mover, so the pictures were just a tad bit harder to get. I think I captured some cute ones though so it was worth it.
I love his eyes in this one...
He didn't want to be on the mirror much, so I tried a different approach.
Ya, that didn't work well either!
 And done!

Jack is 3

This is way overdue, but better late than never, right?!?!

Jack,

I cannot believe that I have blinked away three years. You are my big boy, but like I always tell you, you will always be my baby!

At your check up, you weighed 32 lbs (50%) and were 37.25 inches (50%). You wear a size 7/8 shoe with 3T shirts and mainly 2T bottoms.

You have grown into such an amazing toddler. You are very respectful and have great manners for the most part. I could live without those nasty fits your throw when you don't get your way, but they are soon forgotten when I snuggle you in my arms. We get lots of compliments on how great you are so I am thankful that you save those fits mainly for us!

I would say your favorite thing to do is TALK, and you say the darndest things. You are pretty good at expressing your feelings which is something we encourage. You pick up quickly on things and are very curious which is why you know some random things for a 3 year old. You don't play well by yourself. Or shall I say, you don't really play by yourself at all. We spend a lot of our day role playing. You ask me to be many different people throughout the day from princesses to cartoon characters. I just simply have to change my voice a tad and carry on a conversation with you, and you are as happy as a clam. Not going to lie, it gets old some days where I just want to be Mommy, but I know these moments of swimming through the big ocean (our house) as Ariel with you as Deputy Peck behind me will soon be over so I'm trying to savor it as much as I can. You love to sing songs! Nothing is sweeter than hearing you sing, and most of our songs are Bible songs which is even better. You still love letters and often ask how to spell something or see letters and ask what it spells. We are constantly sounding things out. Some other things you enjoy are puzzles (25 pieces!), board games, have books read to you, play Ipad, and play with your Paw Patrol and Jake toys. We go to the park often where you climb every obstacle, play tag, and swing high on the swings. You can ride your scooter super fast and have learned to ride a bike with training wheels but prefer the scooter over doing that. You are also really good at hitting a baseball. We can pitch you the ball, and you can hit it pretty well for your age - catching and throwing are another story! But most of all, when outside, you love being with the neighbors. You look for them any time we step outside and have even asked me to call them when they aren't there. When you play along side the big boys, I just realize how big you have truly gotten.

You go to bed most nights around 8:30 and get up around 6:35 thanks you Greenie, your OK to WAKE clock! We know you are awake because you say, "Mommy, Daddy, waking up" in the sweetest voice. You also take a nap in the afternoons for 1.5-2.5 hours! Our routine when you wake in the mornings and after naps are 2 tv shows (Paw Patrol, Blaze, Sheriff Callie) with your sippy cup full of milk and snuggles where you rub a finger. You are an excellent eater. Your favorite breakfast food would be mini muffins and bacon but also enjoy yogurt, pancakes, and granola bars. For lunch, you like big pepperonis (hard salami) and little pepperonis or PB&J with fruit usually. For dinner, your absolute favorite is beef stroganoff with okra, but you eat anything we give you. You don't always enjoy it but hardly put up a fight because you know our expectations. Grapes, blueberries, goldfish, yogurt smoothies, or fruit snacks are our main go to snacks.

You are quite a social guy. You love being with friends and have many close little girl friends (Lucy, Tristan, Amelie). Every week, we go to gymnastics, Bible Study, and school. We try to do lots so you can experience lots...and so Mommy can stay sane between you and Bubba!
Jackers, I am so proud of who you have become even at THREE! I can only pray that you will continue to be respectful, kind, tender hearted, loving, and curious as you grow and that your love for Jesus will only grow deeper and deeper. I love being your Mommy and watching you each and every day. You make me laugh, you make me wonder, you make me cry, and you make me want to pull my hair out some times, but I wouldn't change a single moment. I have no doubt that God is going to do great things with you.

I loved you yesterday, I love you today, and I will love you tomorrow,
Mommy.

7 Acre Woods: Year 2

Last week, we met Shelby, Lucy, and Hays out at 7 Acre Woods. We went last year about the same time, and it was just neat to watch how much more the kids can do in just a year. It was a gorgeous day to just enjoy the outdoors. We pet the animals, played all over the playground, ate lunch, and swung on the big "couch." Carter and Hays seemed to enjoy themselves, too!
Lucy was scared so Jack held her hand to help!

I can't wait to go next year with our littles being able to really play, too!
