For Jack's third birthday, we took him to Disney. Several things spurred this trip. Everyone says don't take your kids to Disney that young because they won't remember it. Well, Jack might not remember it, but we really were going for us to be able to experience his joy as he saw the characters. Jack adores Mickey Mouse and all his friends so we knew it was going to be worth it. We also thought it would be good to have some time alone with Jack so John's parents so graciously said they would watch Carter. Third, Jack was free! Since we went when he was still two technically, his tickets and character meals were free!
We drove over to the ranch Friday afternoon and stayed the night with John's parents. The next morning, we kissed our sweet baby good bye and drove to the San Antonio airport to catch our flight. The flight was great. We had a short lay over in Houston and then were o our way to Orlando. After much excitement, Jack finally fell asleep about 5:00 and slept until we landed.
We grabbed a quick dinner in the airport and caught the Magical Express bus to our hotel. Jack was the cutest thing on the bus. He was completely enthralled in the little informational movie they showed the whole way. He would cheer anytime a Mickey character came up. We knew then that this trip would not be a waste! After about 50 minutes, we finally arrived at our hotel and checked in around 9. Jack was on a high for sure. We looked around the hotel briefly and headed to our room. There was a Mickey head made from towels that made it all the more real for him.
After jumping on the beds (our hotel tradition!) and getting a quick bath, it was bed time since we would have an early morning. The only bad part was that our luggage didn't get to our hotel until about midnight so I slept in my clothes. The bellman brought it to us about 5:30 the next morning :)
