Misc. May Pictures

Here are some of our miscellaneous May pictures:
I love Carter just watching John's lips here.
An afternoon after church with our Sunday School friends. Carter slept through it all!
We put up the bounce house one evening and had some quality family jump time. Jack loved turning it off, letting it deflate, and turning it on again while Carter just loved climbing and bouncing all over.
 Deflating...
On a play date with Amelie from Jack's school. Jack was being cranky and sat on the bench almost the entire time (what fun, huh?) while Carter had a blast with Owen.
Carter loves climbing around the tricycle!
Mother's Day. Again, Jack was cranky and didn't want to partake in pictures so I hammed it up with the little.
John came in one morning pushing Carter in the basket, and he had the biggest grin on his face.
Closest he would get for a picture!
Those eyes get me every day!
Carter found the play set, and he absolutely LOVED it. The only problem is that you have to be there at ALL times because the kid will jump off!
One morning, we had a Nerf water gun fight while Carter was sleeping.
We were charging up the battery in this thing, and you better bet that Carter found it and tried to climb on by himself. I then bribed Jack to drive him. My heart lives for moments like this.

Carter: 9 months

Carter,

What a sweet and happy boy you are! You are learning more each and every day and growing like a weed. You make eyes at most strangers, and you instantly melt their hearts!

At 9 months, you weighed in at 19.15 lbs (40%) and were 29.25 in. (77%). You still wear the same types of clothes - mainly 9 months with 12 month rompers and sleepers. You have sprouted your top 4 teeth all at once so you now have 6, but I can usually only see the bottom two. You have begun to smile with your bottom jaw out a little and your two teeth showing. I love it. You have added some table food slowly into your meals. You still eat baby food for B, L, & D (with breakfast as your least favorite), and you get your 3 8 ounce bottles (which you don't always finish). If we are eating anything that I think you might be able to munch on, I let you try. You've really enjoyed french fries, peas, and most fruit. The last two nights for dinner, you only got one jar of baby food and then ate veggies from our dinner! It was really exciting...all but the mess. You haven't been very big on your snacks, though.

Nothing has changed in your sleep pattern. If you do wake up before needed with bedtime or naps, we can almost always lay on the couch with you and you will snuggle in our arms and fall back asleep!

This past month, you have added many firsts. You can say Bubba, Bye-Bye (and wave), Momma, More, and then babbles. Your favorite sound is for sure BuBuBuBu. You have also learned to clap your hands which I love. When you clap, you smile, and I melt! You also have taken your first steps, but you are not interested in doing it often or doing any more! You can walk with your little walker or push other toys around, but you would rather fall and crawl when it comes to long movement. I did also learn that you know how to climb up steps! In the past month, you have been on bike rides, ridden in the big toy jeep and the tricycle, and you rode on the Mickey Car. You love going and think you are way bigger than you are.

Around the house, I can find you chasing after balls that you have hit, playing at the window sill still and banging toys, playing with magnets from the fridge, playing in the fridge if it is open, and trying to get on the tricycle. You are a pretty good self entertainer for the most part.
Cart Tart - You are the sweetest Rascal around with a laugh that will make you come back for more. I know God is going to do great things with you!

I loved you yesterday, I love you today, and I will love you tomorrow,
Mommy

First Aggie Baseball Game

We took Jack and Carter up to Aggieland for their firt Aggie baseball game! John's boss even gave us his season tickets since they weren't able to attend! We left home right after lunch and went to my college adoptive family's house first to spend time with them. They had never met Carter which means they hadn't seen Jack in awhile either. It was really great catching up. After that, we headed to John's college adoptive family! It had been even longer since we had seen them. Carter even managed to spill a drink all over their carpet while we were there :) We like to make sure they remember us. Next, we headed to Research Park - one of our favorites. I packed some bread so we could feed the ducks.
Once the bread ran out, we finally made our way to the game. Jack was beyond excited! They were handing out free bubble guns when we arrived and that was all Jack needed to make his night go from good to amazing! He enjoyed the game, but he really enjoyed blowing the bubbles! We had to finally limit his bubbles to only good things during the game because I think the people around us were getting tired of them. When the Aggies scored, everyone blew their bubbles, and it was a really neat site. Carter sat and enjoyed the environment, too. We actually lasted until the 8th inning and almost 9 o'clock which is far later than I would've imagined.
Man, I love my boys!

My baby and a Mirror

I remember getting some really cute pictures of Jack with the mirror as a baby so I HAD to do it with Carter! Well, Carter was a few months older, and he is quite the mover, so the pictures were just a tad bit harder to get. I think I captured some cute ones though so it was worth it.
I love his eyes in this one...
He didn't want to be on the mirror much, so I tried a different approach.
Ya, that didn't work well either!
 And done!

Jack is 3

This is way overdue, but better late than never, right?!?!

Jack,

I cannot believe that I have blinked away three years. You are my big boy, but like I always tell you, you will always be my baby!

At your check up, you weighed 32 lbs (50%) and were 37.25 inches (50%). You wear a size 7/8 shoe with 3T shirts and mainly 2T bottoms.

You have grown into such an amazing toddler. You are very respectful and have great manners for the most part. I could live without those nasty fits your throw when you don't get your way, but they are soon forgotten when I snuggle you in my arms. We get lots of compliments on how great you are so I am thankful that you save those fits mainly for us!

I would say your favorite thing to do is TALK, and you say the darndest things. You are pretty good at expressing your feelings which is something we encourage. You pick up quickly on things and are very curious which is why you know some random things for a 3 year old. You don't play well by yourself. Or shall I say, you don't really play by yourself at all. We spend a lot of our day role playing. You ask me to be many different people throughout the day from princesses to cartoon characters. I just simply have to change my voice a tad and carry on a conversation with you, and you are as happy as a clam. Not going to lie, it gets old some days where I just want to be Mommy, but I know these moments of swimming through the big ocean (our house) as Ariel with you as Deputy Peck behind me will soon be over so I'm trying to savor it as much as I can. You love to sing songs! Nothing is sweeter than hearing you sing, and most of our songs are Bible songs which is even better. You still love letters and often ask how to spell something or see letters and ask what it spells. We are constantly sounding things out. Some other things you enjoy are puzzles (25 pieces!), board games, have books read to you, play Ipad, and play with your Paw Patrol and Jake toys. We go to the park often where you climb every obstacle, play tag, and swing high on the swings. You can ride your scooter super fast and have learned to ride a bike with training wheels but prefer the scooter over doing that. You are also really good at hitting a baseball. We can pitch you the ball, and you can hit it pretty well for your age - catching and throwing are another story! But most of all, when outside, you love being with the neighbors. You look for them any time we step outside and have even asked me to call them when they aren't there. When you play along side the big boys, I just realize how big you have truly gotten.

You go to bed most nights around 8:30 and get up around 6:35 thanks you Greenie, your OK to WAKE clock! We know you are awake because you say, "Mommy, Daddy, waking up" in the sweetest voice. You also take a nap in the afternoons for 1.5-2.5 hours! Our routine when you wake in the mornings and after naps are 2 tv shows (Paw Patrol, Blaze, Sheriff Callie) with your sippy cup full of milk and snuggles where you rub a finger. You are an excellent eater. Your favorite breakfast food would be mini muffins and bacon but also enjoy yogurt, pancakes, and granola bars. For lunch, you like big pepperonis (hard salami) and little pepperonis or PB&J with fruit usually. For dinner, your absolute favorite is beef stroganoff with okra, but you eat anything we give you. You don't always enjoy it but hardly put up a fight because you know our expectations. Grapes, blueberries, goldfish, yogurt smoothies, or fruit snacks are our main go to snacks.

You are quite a social guy. You love being with friends and have many close little girl friends (Lucy, Tristan, Amelie). Every week, we go to gymnastics, Bible Study, and school. We try to do lots so you can experience lots...and so Mommy can stay sane between you and Bubba!
Jackers, I am so proud of who you have become even at THREE! I can only pray that you will continue to be respectful, kind, tender hearted, loving, and curious as you grow and that your love for Jesus will only grow deeper and deeper. I love being your Mommy and watching you each and every day. You make me laugh, you make me wonder, you make me cry, and you make me want to pull my hair out some times, but I wouldn't change a single moment. I have no doubt that God is going to do great things with you.

I loved you yesterday, I love you today, and I will love you tomorrow,
Mommy.
