7 Acre Woods: Year 2

Last week, we met Shelby, Lucy, and Hays out at 7 Acre Woods. We went last year about the same time, and it was just neat to watch how much more the kids can do in just a year. It was a gorgeous day to just enjoy the outdoors. We pet the animals, played all over the playground, ate lunch, and swung on the big "couch." Carter and Hays seemed to enjoy themselves, too!
Lucy was scared so Jack held her hand to help!

I can't wait to go next year with our littles being able to really play, too!

Airplanes!

A few weeks ago, we met up with our friends Miles, Klaire, and Kale to go watch the airplanes at a local airport. Despite the chilly overcast weather, we had a lot of fun - so much fun I forgot to take many pictures! There is a Black Walnut to there, and we were able to eat outside to watch the planes take off and land. I loved watching Jack and his friends get so excited when they heard a plane. Why can't we all enjoy the little things?
Carter and Kale just enjoyed being outside!

Carter: 8 months

Carter,

You, my dear, are one busy boy, and you wear my out! But, I wouldn't change a thing :)

At 8 months, you still only have your two bottom teeth and are eating three meals a day along with three 8 ounce bottles. You are still on the picky side, but you LOVE most fruit especially melon. I'll give you chunks of cantaloupe or watermelon and you will suck the juice out and then spit the chunk out! As far as table food goes, you've had the melon, sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes which you did not want anything to do with. You are just not ready for most of it. You do eat Mum Mums and Puffs, and they keep you busy during stroller rides and meals. You are wearing all different sizes now! Most clothes are 6-9 months with the exception of sleepers and rompers which are 12 months.

You still go to bed between 8-8:30 and sleep until 6:30-7. Naps are sporadic since everyday looks a little different. It is typical for you to take many cat naps in the car from place to place and take a longer nap in the afternoon anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on who knows what!

You are a very active little boy. You would prefer to be down on the floor moving versus being in any arms or stroller. You are a super fast army crawler and can pull up on anything - stable or unstable! You have also learned how to sit after crawling. Your favorite place right now is standing at the window sill so every morning, I have to raise the blinds for you or you are pulling them. I can no longer leave you on the floor in Bubba's room while I get him ready for his nap because you like to pull toys over on yourself. You are literally everywhere! The workers at church have to watch you constantly. Just last week, you fell against a crib and scratched your nose pretty good. You have a new bruise every few days. You just think you are bigger than you are.

 And done...
Cart Tart - I love your slobbery kisses and your chubby cheeks. You bring so much joy to my life, and I am so lucky to be your Mommy. God is going to do great things with you.

I loved you yesterday, I love you today, and I will love you tomorrow,
Mommy

Confetti Eggs!

Every year, in the evening of Easter, my neighbors put together a confetti egg party. Each year gets bigger and bigger, and it is so much fun for the kids. This year, the wee ones actually hunted in another neighbor's yard and then went back with the big kids to crack them. This worked great so they weren't trampled in getting eggs.
The neighborhood kids and all the cartons of eggs!
Jack and Lily, our next door neighbor, ready to get eggs.
 Let the cracking begin...
I love how so many of the big kids would bend down and let Jack get them. I love this place.
Once the cracking is over, everyone has to pick up the big pieces to get a popsicle!
This year was super special in that my neighbor, Miss Steph, appeared in her Easter Bunny outfit!

Easter Morning

We left Grammie's Saturday evening so that we could spend Easter morning at our house and go to our church. It was nice being home. The kids woke up around 6:45 that morning and found what the Easter Bunny has brought.
Carter's basket was filled with snacks and some new bath toys!
Jack got new shoes (which he tested first thing to see if they were light up - FAIL!) and tried them on to see how fast they made him! He also got new Veggie Tales movies and a CD along with a board game.
For breakfast, I tried to recreate something from Pinterest. It wasn't a complete fail, but it wasn't exactly picturesque!
Then, we got ready for church. I head to leave early to help with Women's Ministry and the boys met me later. It was a great service and was nice to worship outside.
And here's our attempts at pictures of the boys together. We are definitely in a tough picture time when one just won't sit still!
 And done...
Thank you, Lord, for your Son, His death, and His resurrection. We are so undeserving.
