Happy Birthday to me!

My birthday this year was on Easter so I celebrated it the day before with my family. It was a wonderful day. I am so blessed to have the family that I have. They make me smile.

Happy Easter!

The day before Easter, I decided to do mommy's mini shoot! I can't wait to really learn how to use my camera, but until then, I think I manage to capture some pretty good pictures. Gigi put together his Easter basket, and I found many props around her house.

Easter morning we woke up and went to my mom's church. After church, we went to Nana's house to visit with family and feed Jack before we had to head out. The weather ended up being pretty nasty so my grand plans for pictures ended with this under my Nana's porch. Happy first Easter Jack. I hope that with all the hustle and bustle of life, you'll never forget what an amazing thing Jesus did for us.

Guess who's TWO months!!!

Jack,
You are two months, and it is crazy. I loved taking your picture and seeing the differences from the last times. You are WAY more alert and not nearly as floppy :) Your personality is starting to come through, and it melts my heart. You are such a blessing you me and your daddy.

At two months, you are beginning to sleep more at night which makes one happy mommy and daddy. Daddy isn't having to wake up as much! You are eating about 4 ounces every 3-4 hours. You still love bath time, and the paci is by far your best friend. If the paci isn't around, your hands and arm sometimes hold you over. You smile and coo when you are happy, and you still burp with the best of them! You love looking at the picture above the couch and the fan in the front room. I love how easily you are entertained.

This was the "Mom, I'm tired" sign!

Jack, thank you for letting me pose you and take so many pictures! Hopefully you take after your mommy in being photogenic! Remember, God is going to do great things with you!

I loved you yesterday, I love you today, and I will love you forever,
Mommy

Shots, Shots, and more Shots!

On Tuesday, we went in for Jack's two month check up. We (John, Shirley, and I) all came in three different vehicles all for one sweet boy! He weighed in at a healthy 11 lbs, 15 oz (4 lbs in 2 months!!) which was in the 55%. He was 23.5 inches tall (75%) and his head was 50%. Overall, we have a pretty well rounded average kid according to their scale. At the end of it all, Jack got his 3 shots and did pretty well. He screamed while they did it, but they are so fast, his crying didn't last long. He was pretty good once I picked him up. That night we went out to eat to say goodbye to some sweet friends, The Lewis's, and he was a pretty happy baby all night. That night he slept from 10:00-4:45 which was a first. I felt so rejuvenated!!! Grams did say he slept most of the day, though. I guess those shots wore him out! I wasn't able to get too good of pictures, but I did get a few.
Sweet boy, you are momma's champ!

8 Weeks Old

At 8 weeks, Jack is staying awake much more these days which isn't the best at church! He only made it through the music, and then we had to go to the "cry" room for the rest. I definitely didn't pay attention too well in there. I guess we will have to learn to adjust because I'm not ready to drop him off in the nursery yet!

He is doing really well during tummy time and is getting strong :) Grams also came to stay that night!

The sun will come up tomorrow!

Mr. Jack had his first "baby sitter" on Saturday. I've always wanted to go see Annie, and John bought me tickets awhile back. Julie and Allen, our great friends, said they would watch him while we went out. It was a great "date" day. We went downtown , had a nice lunch, and went to the show. The moment we left, John and I turned to each other and said, "Does it feel like we have a baby at home?" We are in this weird mental stage where it doesn't feel like we are parents when we are away from home. It's hard to describe. We love our sweet boy with all our heart, but I guess it still doesn't feel real. I don't know. Anyway, Julie snapped some cute pictures while we were gone. We are so grateful to have them around :) We know we have to get at least 6 more baby sitters because we bought a Broadway package!!!

Mommy's Last Day Home

Thursday was my last day at home with my sweet one before returning back to work. We had a very lazy and cuddly day! We met a friend for lunch and then hung around the house for the rest of that day and listened to the rain. I soaked up as much time as I could with Jack. It wasn't easy leaving him the next day, but there is an end in sight.  I can do anything for 9 weeks. I can't wait to be a stay at home mom and be with Jack every day!
